While we’ve been hyped for NBC’s World of Dance for quite a while, this week finally brought the competition to screens across the country and even the world. Not only did the groundbreaking season premier bring together some of the world’s best dancers (more to come next week!), it also gave us a look into what to expect from the judges and the caliber of the performances we can expect in following episodes.
According to Nielsen data, the NBC series premiere of World of Dance (which airs Tuesdays at 10/9 central) had 9.8 million viewers and a 2.4 rating in adults 18-49. According to Variety, “World of Dance was also the most-watched summer alternative series debut on broadcast in nine years, since the launch of ABC’s Wipeout in 2008.”
