So here we are, at The Cut. It’s a very tough portion of the competition, but it’s making for some incredible give-it-your-all routines on NBC’s World of Dance. Only two teams in each category can make it to the next round, based on score totals. To make things better (and even more exciting), this week sported epic ballet dancer Misty Copeland as a guest judge. So if you missed out on Qualifiers and Duels, you can catch up with Top 5 moments for Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 4, Episode 5, and Episode 6.
Otherwise, let’s talk dance!
1. Diana Pombo (Legs Rolling on Shoulders)
Diana Pombo has not let her idol Jennifer Lopez down once in this competition and she kept her usual power on the dance floor accordingly. Emotionally captivating and and technically powerful, Pombo goes in for a lot of kills throughout her performance. But there’s one that got an audible stun from Derek Hough—when her legs slowly twisted over her head as she faced the judges. Watch her nail the stunning move at :18 in the video below.
2. The Mihacevich Sisters (Couch Fall)
You have to be very talented to stress out Jennifer Lopez, but that’s what the talented sisters. Two of them flew behind the couch to catch their third, as she trust-fell with all her weight, disappearing from judges’ sight. Derek Hough thought it was funny though. Meanwhile, the rest of this performance as heartfelt and filled with so much familial connection. See the bold move off the top of the couch at :58 in the video below.
3. Eva Igo (One-Handed Cartwheel While Holding Leg)
This show has a habit of making you feel guilty about what you can’t do with your body. A prime example is almost everything Eva Igo does. After spinning, rolling, and wheeling around like she has no bones, she pulls off a move that even stuns Misty Copeland. She holds on leg while putting all her weight onto the other for a cartwheel. Watch her casually pull off the awe-inspiring at :59 in the video below.
4. Swing Latino (Super High Toss)
We’ve seen Swing Latino toss each other back and forth before, but this one was jaw-dropping. After lifting one girl into a crab position up in the air, they still manage to fling another teammate over her. Come for the colorful clothes, stay for all the times you flip out over what this crew can do. For instance, catching a woman by the shoulders after leaping over what seems like half your team, damn! Watch the wild at :37 in the video below.
5. Super Cr3w (Forearm Hops in the Solo)
When someone scores a solo, they typically complement the performance with an extraordinary contribution. On this show, however, it can be an entire performance within another performance. There’s no way this guy simply walks into parties when he’s capable of these moves (and with such ease!). It’s like watching someone do parkour without any surfaces. Behold the unrealness at :50 in the video below.
