NBC’s World of Dance gets wilder with each week! On the second night of Duels, we were treated to some seriously dramatic performances. Every dancer and dance crew brought their A-game, even though, alas, only one from each round moves on. It’s winners conquering winners here, and routines are only getting bigger, stronger, and sharper. If you missed out on Qualifiers and the first round of Duels, you can catch up with Top 5 moments for Episode 1Episode 2Episode 3, and Episode 4.

Now let’s talk dance!

1. Diana Pombo
Simply put, Diana Pombo is a powerhouse. From the first moment of this performance, where she cranks her head still on the floor, to the very end, where she rises like a phoenix, she straight up nails it and kills it. But she surely set the tone when her leg is thrown behind her back in a leaning sit position like it’s no big deal. Only a moment later she stands on one leg, balancing perfectly, and then throws her other leg straight up, again like it’s no big deal. She’s a force to be reckoned with. See her in full ferocity at :25 in the video below.

2. Royal Flux (Flying Girl)
The theme of the flying woman is arguably the entire performance, with some pretty fantastic moments throughout, from resting her head upside-down on a teammate’s back to being swung over heads entirely. However, the most sensational moment has to be the way things finish. After an outrageously fun and flexible routine, thanks to everyone on stage, she bounces through an aided flip and then steps across her floored crew. See the climax of glory at 1:09 in the video below.

3. The Lab (That Flip)
The Lab is young and so much fun. In their badass and self-aware fight-themed performance, the crew locked in their moves with a ferociousness that never skipped a beat. But the move that was really something to see was the flip that the blue fighter did off two fellow performers. As he lands, the crew continues killing it like the move was nothing. It wasn’t. It was something awesome. See them pull it off effortlessly and flawlessly at :57 in the video below.

4. Boys of Temecula (Desk Promo)
Even though Boys of Temecula had some technically cool moves in their super fun performance, like one dancer making another dancer float and a seriously high flip, their best and most unique move was the finishing surprise of their leader showing up at the judges’ desk with a flier. Flashing a keen smile and a knowing look, he pops up in sync with some hype. See them stun with self-awareness sweetness at 1:01 in the video below.

5. Les Twins (Neck Snap)
As J.Lo put it, “When you did the neck, that’s the spirit of the battle. It’s like, ‘I love you and I respect you, but I’m going to annihilate you.'” Such was the out-of-nowhere finishing move of their performance. As one brother gracefully dances, facing their competitor for the round, the other smiles and nods before appearing to snap his neck in the last second of the routine, with the victim falling to the floor. Ugh, it was so tight. See the severe finish at 1:15 in the video below.
