If you’re obsessed with the talented dancers of NBC World of Dance, you’re in the right place. In anticipation of the premiere on NBC May 30 at 10/9 central, we’ve been catching up with the amazing contestants. Today, we’re chatting with Ronnie Abaldonado of the amazing Super Cr3w.

Ronnie Abaldonado of Super Cr3w

Established in 2000, the crew has made appearances in music videos and toured with internationally-acclaimed music icons like Madonna, Fergie, and Justin Timberlake, among several others. As a result, they were the first hip-hop dance crew to ever perform inside the White House in 2010. They’ve also won prestigious competitions like the “Red Bull BC One” World Championship. And you probably remember them as the season 2 winners of America’s Best Dance Crew.

We caught up with Ronnie to find out what it was like to compete on the show, what dance means to him, and more.

WOD: What was the best part of competing in World of Dance?

RA: The best part of competing in World Of Dance was actually hanging out backstage and sharing a dance cypher with all the competitors, especially with our long time friends from Jabbawockeez and Kinjaz! We go way back 🙂

WOD: Who’s your favorite judge, and why?

RA: I would say my favorite judge is Derek Hough. He also competed in a television show in the past and understands what it takes to win.

WOD: What do you love most about dance?

RA: What I love most about dance is the freedom to express your own individually. This season of World Of Dance has some of the most amazing and unique dancers I have ever seen!

WOD: Why do you think the world needs dance?

RA: Dance is all I know. I can’t imagine a world without it. The world would be lifeless without good music to dance to.

WOD: What 5 songs are you obsessed with right now/why?

1) “Perm” by Bruno Mars

It has a Bboy sound!

2) “HUMBLE.” by Kendrick Lamar

I like the lyrics to this song.

3) “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran

This was my wedding song LOL.

4) “Location” by Khalid

I’ve been hearing this track on the radio lately and it’s a feel good song 🙂

5) “Caroline” by Aminé

This was a song I dedicated to my Wife!
