NBC’s World of Dance is about to premiere, and we’re pretty pumped. In anticipation, we’ve been catching up with the amazing contestants. Today, we’re chatting with dancer/choreographer Alexander Chung of Kings Unite.
The group formed on the prestigious floor of LA’s Millennium Dance Complex, and its members have toured the world as backup dancers and appeared in music videos alongside pop icons Janet Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Taylor Swift, and Prince. So it’s no wonder they made it to the World of Dance stage. We caught up with Alexander to chat about his experience and why he thinks the world needs dance.

WOD: What do you love most about dance?
AC: I love how nothing is ever black and white. I love how rules are meant to be broken, and you are meant to create!
WOD: Why do you think the world needs dance?
AC: I think the world needs dance because it can bring healing to the world. I think it’s fun, social, and makes people feel all emotions. Dance can bring us outside of our bodies and minds. Dance is our escape.
