In a terrific interview on Last Call with Carson Daly, NE-YO talks about his new role as a judge on NBC’s World of Dance and how he can’t ever slow down as an artist. While NE-YO provides Daly with a lot of thoughtful and heartfelt moment about a life making art—especially when industry years are like dog years, as he puts it—the best (and funniest) moment comes when NE-YO describes realizing all the extra work he’s going to have to do after this season of World of Dance ends.
One thing that I was definitely feeling as I’m sitting there, I was going, “Oh god, I gotta put music out after this. I gotta shoot music videos after this. I gotta dance after this. Oh god, man, I gotta get back in the gym. This is gonna be bad. How do I judge some of the best dancers in the world and then get in my video and look like crap?”
