WOD: Can you give us a little background about the crew?

SWLZ: We Are Su Wa Li Zilla, a dance studio near Art Story in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, Korea. We are a group of young people who dreamed of being dancers, so we gathered and started to perform. We started the activity by creating the 2016 team. We won the 2016 World Of Dance South Korea title and started to work in earnest. After winning the Best Costume at the 2016 La Wod, we won many national competitions.

WOD: What do you think made your performance stand out enough to win?

SWLZ: Storytelling and performance. Besides dancing ability, our theme, props, costumes, and concept helped. We were inspired by the performance of Chinese movies. We wanted to impress the public and judges by showing a variety of interesting and colorful performances, inspired by Chineses Zombie, Bruce Lee and Journey to the West. We made a performance for fun.

WOD: What’s your crew’s dance philosophy?

SWLZ: Our goal is to be the winner.

WOD: What are you most excited about for the WOD Finals in Pasadena?

SWLZ: We want to see and learn about the various performances of dance teams from around the world.
