Even though we get the best of the best on NBC’s World of Dance, we don’t always witness or understand how much goes into nailing a performance. To compete on this level, there’s nothing casual, easy, or last minute. It takes a whole lot of time, energy, and strength—along with a few injuries—to truly slay a routine. Just ask Luka & Jenalyn.
The dynamic ballroom dancing duo from Toronto put their all into their performances. Yet, while it definitely shows, given their accuracy of flawless moves, audiences likely still can’t comprehend the (literal) blood and sweat that went into their work on the dance floor. Athough it won’t air until tomorrow night, it was such an epic battle of Duels this week that World of Dance released a sneak peek of Luka & Jenalyn’s knockout this morning.
But, seriously, you need to see Luka & Jenalyn in practice to fully appreciate how (bloody) hard they trained for this World of Dance performance. The injuries sustained? Luka & Jenalyn told us the count included:
- Lost nail
- Hair pulled out of scalp
- Back injury
- Ankle injury
- Shoulder injury
Get a behind-the-scenes look below.
Dance is intense, but on World of Dance, it’s all or nothing—and these two bring it. Tune in tomorrow night to see their epic battle. And until then, here’s a less injured look at their routine.
