WOD: What was the best part of competing in World of Dance?
DNA: The best part of competing in World of Dance was to be in an environment surrounded by most talented and professional people in the industry, including dancers, producers, choreographers, directors, camera operators, wardrobe, crew, and everybody else. Everyone was so focused and professional that it was the most inspiring time.
Of course, it was also super amazing that the whole production was happening in Universal Studios—a place which feels so special and magical that alone being there just gives goosebumps.
Also, it was amazing to meet so many different amazing dancers from all genres and styles and to see them excel in their dance form and to build friendships, which probably would not have been possible otherwise.
WOD: Who’s your favorite judge, and why?
DNA: All judges are wonderful and unique in their own right, but our favorite judge is Jennifer Lopez. She is such a superstar in every possible way. She is a role model for any artist and performer. As children growing up in Ukraine, we have been dancing to her music and she keeps inspiring us to this day through her music, dance, and passion.
WOD: What do you love most about dance?
DNA: We love expressing the music and telling different stories through dance. We love the never-ending process of hard work and development. We love the exploration and the creative process, the countless hours in the studio, and of course, the feeling during the performance where we feel most alive and free.
WOD: What song are you dying to choreograph right now?
DNA: “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson.
WOD: Why do you think the world needs dance?
DNA: The world needs dance because dance makes the world more positive, more united, and more joyful. Through dance, people express and show who they are and how they feel. Dance makes us happy and alive and all those things that we cannot put into words, we can tell them through dance, which is so freeing and awesome.
